Kiran Vasudeva

One of the qualities I most value in Kiran is that she is always available to speak to and will sort out problems quickly and sensibly. I have no hesitation in recommending Kiran to other clients and professionals.

I specialise in matters relating to powers of attorney, personal injury trusts, mental capacity and the Court of Protection.

Many of my clients have lost mental capacity as a result of degenerative brain conditions such as Alzheimer’s disease and dementia or have sustained serious brain injuries, usually as a result of a catastrophic accident or birth trauma. Whether the clients have their own wealth or have received substantial awards of compensation, I have significant experience in managing funds carefully in order to meet their lifetime needs. This involves working as collaboratively and pragmatically as possible with clients, their families and support teams.

I make applications to the Court of Protection on matters ranging from the appointment of a deputy to complex one-off applications such as statutory Wills and gift applications. I can also assist with investigating suspected financial abuse of a vulnerable individual and bringing or defending proceedings in the Court of Protection including disputes between property and financial affairs attorneys, contested deputyship applications, and misappropriated funds by deputies and attorneys.

In addition, I specialise in Will drafting, estate planning, probate and estate administration work. I deal with simple and complex estates including estates with cross-border and multi-jurisdictional issues in a sympathetic and efficient manner. This includes preparing the grant application, completing the accounts to HMRC and claiming any reliefs, dealing with enquiries from HMRC, advising on and preparing deeds of variation and post-death tax planning.

I read law at the University of Sheffield and prior to joining New Quadrant Partners worked at one of the country’s leading and busiest Court of Protection practices.

I sit on the committee of the Court of Protection Practitioners Association London Group (CoPPA). I am also a member of the Law Society’s Private Client Section and STEP (the Society for Trust and Estate Practitioners). I have undertaken the STEP Diploma in Trusts and Estates and STEP Advanced Certificate in advising Vulnerable Clients. I was named as an eprivateclient Top 35 under 35 in 2016 and have been selected as a Citywealth Future Leader Top 100 for two consecutive years, 2018 and 2019.
