Our Expertise

Regulatory Compliance

The government’s annual budget and new legislation constantly alters or adds to the role of a trustee. Our dedicated trust team works closely alongside our legal experts to identify upcoming regulatory changes and how to implement them.

Our most recent experiences undertaking regulatory compliance include the requirement for various types of trusts to hold a registered Legal Entity Identifier with the London Stock Exchange, the requirement for trusts with a UK tax liability to register on HM Revenue & Customs’ newly implemented Trust Register, and the requirements relating to the implementation of the US Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA).

We undertake all aspects of compliance where we have been appointed as trustee or agent. We are also happy to assist clients with their own personal or trust regulatory compliance to ensure they are aware of any changes to the law that may affect their affairs.

If you wish to speak to a member of our team and discuss how we can be of further assistance to you, please contact Stephen Grace, Partner, or Darren Austin-Smith, Trust Director.
