Food for thought!
26 January 2021

This year, we are delighted to support the charity, Food for the Brain, which is working hard to raise awareness of nutrition for mental wellbeing and brain health. In light of the pandemic and the impact of lockdown, we believe that now, more than ever, mental health issues are a priority for people. We also support the charity’s focus on education and how to improve health and lifestyle which is crucial in so many degenerative diseases.
The charity delivers free valuable educational information, which is geared towards all life stages and conditions related to the brain. With a focus on nutrition science and lifestyle medicine, Food for the Brain prides itself in offering evidence based, reliable information, which aims to empower people to take their cognitive health and mental wellbeing into their own hands through accessible and practical dietary and lifestyle changes.
One of its most important campaigns is on raising awareness around the impact of nutrition and lifestyle on the risk of developing Alzheimer’s. The campaign’s central feature is its free online cognitive function test, including a dietary and lifestyle questionnaire, which aims to provide a tool for individuals to self-assess cognitive function that can help to predict Mild Cognitive Impairment MCI – a risk factor for developing dementia. The test offers tailored dietary recommendations, which feature the cornerstones of optimising brain health and preventing cognitive decline. In response to this new partnership, Natalie Shears, CEO of Food for the Brain, said “we are thrilled to have the support of New Quadrant. I believe that this partnership reflects a growing interest and need for better education and more awareness around the impact of diet and lifestyle on cognitive health and mental wellbeing. After a challenging year, it is comforting to know that businesses like New Quadrant are investing in the dissemination of what we believe to be vital information for many people. We very much look forward to the activities and events we will be delivering in partnership with New Quadrant and its team”.
